NASCAR XFINITY Series News & Notes – March 2016

F4R-XS-News-Notes-TemplateThe NASCAR XFINITYĀ Series teams will return to action in two weeksĀ for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300Ā at Texas MotorĀ Speedway. Teams will race 200 laps for 300Ā miles on Friday, April 8th. FOX Sports 1 will begin their pre-race show at 8Ā pm ET with the green flag at around 8:30 pm ET. Fans can also listen to the race on PRN or SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Daniel SuƔrez Extends Lead in the Point Standings for Third-Straight Week

Kyle Larson Dominates in Homestead XFINITY Win; Chris Buescher Clinches Series Crown

Kyle Larson took out a season of frustration on the NASCAR XFINITY Series field Saturday in the season finale, tracking down Austin Dillon in the closing laps to win the Ford EcoBoost 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway by slightly less than a second.

Despite Larsonā€™s dominance in leading 118 of 200 laps, Chris Buescher ran a clean race, finishing 11th to clinch his first XFINITY Series title. Buescher came into the race needing to finish 13th or better to guarantee himself the championship.

After winning a pair of XFINITY Series races last season, Larson, 23, had visions of qualifying for the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup this year. Those hopes failed to materialize. He sits 20th in Sprint Cup points heading into Sundayā€™s season finale. Although managing three top-five finishes, the NASCAR Drive for Diversity alum had gone winless in 13 XFINITY starts. Dover Bound: Chris Buescher Returns to Complete the Sweep

Roush Fenway Racingā€™s Chris Buescher returns to Dover International Speedway for the Hisense 200 hoping to see Victory Lane DĆ©jĆ  vu and complete the single-season sweep at the Monster Mile.

Earlier this season, Buescher and crew chief Scott Graves played the fuel mileage strategy to perfection beating second-place finisher and 2015 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Challenger Matt Kenseth by more than 11 seconds at Dover.

This weekend, Buescher will attempt to pull off the sweep, becoming the seventh driver in series history to carry out the feat: Robert Pressley (1992), Todd Bodine (1993), Randy LaJoie (1996), Kyle Busch (2010 and 2014), Carl Edwards (2011), Joey Logano (2012 and 2013; four straight).
