NASCAR Whelen All-American driver Buddy Shepherd from Bakersfield, CA has been racing since he was four years of age, but the 2015 season has been the highlight of this 15-year-old driver’s young career.  Racing with H & M Motorsports, Shepherd has already brought home three victories and three more top-five finishes, making him another young gun to watch in the youth movement within NASCAR. Edwards Notches First Road Course Victory at Sonoma

A well-timed caution helped get Carl Edwards to the front of the field, and the driver of the No. 99 Roush Fenway Ford did the rest.

Edwards passed Marcos Ambrose for the lead moments after a restart on lap 86 and later held off a charging Jeff Gordon to win Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.  Continue reading

Throwback Thursday – Cup Series Makes First Visit to Sonoma

The NASCAR Winston Cup Series made a visit to a California road course every year from 1958 to 1988.

Drivers weaved left and right around Riverside International Raceway.  Greats such as Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, Darrell Waltrip and even road-course greats like Dan Gurney and Mark Donohue all won at the track. Continue reading
