Late Pass Gives William Byron Second Career Victory

Teenager William Byron overhauled Matt Crafton with five laps remaining and drove to victory in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rattlesnake 400 Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway.

Byron, of Kyle Busch Motorsports, posted his second series victory at the expense of Crafton, who dominated the 167-lapper after brushing the turn three wall 11 laps into the night. Byron earned his breakthrough series victory earlier this season at Kansas Speedway, a 1.5-mile quad-oval similar to TMS.

Byron, 18, is the youngest Truck Series winner at TMS and the second-youngest overall, a record held by Chase Elliott in the NASCAR XFINITY Series in 2014. Continue reading

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Rattlesnake 400 at Texas Preview

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams will race 250.5 miles over 167 laps in the Rattlesnake 400 on Friday, June 10th at Texas Motor Speedway with television coverage on FOX Sports 1 starting at 8:30 pm ET and a green flag around 9 pm ET.  Radio coverage is on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Three-Peat: Crafton Goes for Third Straight June Texas Victory

Matt Crafton, who’s won the last two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races this season and the past two June contests at Texas Motor Speedway, will go for his third consecutive win in Friday’s Rattlesnake 400 at the 1.5-mile track.

In 30 career starts at Texas, Crafton owns two wins, 11 top-fives, 19 top-tens and a 9.7 average finish. He has placed in the top-ten in his last nine starts there. The ThorSport Racing driver also has three runner-up showings at Texas. Continue reading

After a two week pause in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) schedule, Austin Wayne Self and his No.22 AM Racing Technical Solutions Toyota team return to action in their home state of Texas for this weekend’s Rattlesnake 400 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, June 10.

A native son of Austin, Texas, Self, will make his first ever start at Texas Motor Speedway and his seventh overall career start in the NCWTS. Building a strong rookie campaign, the 20-year old driver and his newly formed team currently occupy the 20th position in the point standings. Continue reading

Germán Quiroga Returns to Red Horse Racing at Texas Motor Speedway

Driver Germán Quiroga will return to Red Horse Racing at Texas Motor Speedway. Quiroga will step behind the wheel of the No. 11 Toyota Tundra for the June 10 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at the Fort Worth, Texas facility, and possibly additional races if sponsorship can be secured.

“We’re very excited to welcome Germán back to the Red Horse family,” said team owner Tom DeLoach. “We have a great opportunity to get him back behind the wheel and if sponsorship can be found, we hope to be able to run several more races with him.”

Quiroga piloted the No. 77 Toyota Tundra for Red Horse Racing in 2013 and 2014, recording five top-five finishes, including a third-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway in 2013, 16 top-tens and one pole position.

“I’m very happy to return to Red Horse Racing,” said Quiroga. “I hope we can put together a great run at Texas (Motor Speedway) and that we will be able to put something together so I can keep competing this season.”

Matt Tifft will also return to Red Horse Racing for several additional races this season, yet to be announced.
