Rookie Daniel Suárez Scores Back-to-Back Fourth-Place Finishes at Kentucky Speedway

After a top-five finish in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series’ UNOH 225 on Friday night, Daniel Suárez returned to Kentucky Speedway on Saturday to compete in the Kentucky 300 with the NASCAR XFINITY Series. His fourth-place finish in the Camping World Truck Series was his fourth series’ top-five of the year and Suárez intended to bring that momentum to his next race of the weekend. On tap for Friday’s UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway is a guaranteed new winner in Victory Lane as no currently active driver has taken a checkered flag in the Bluegrass State. Among the top contenders at Kentucky are series wins leader Matt Crafton, as well as the drivers from Kyle Busch Motorsports. Crafton has won three of the four races on 1.5-mile tracks this season, while Kyle Busch Motorsports has celebrated in Victory Lane twice at Kentucky, including last year following Kyle Busch’s triumph. Picking up his second series win, Ty Dillon did exactly what he did to get his first win, by passing Kyle Busch for the lead in the closing laps of the race.

By the end of the race, Dillon crossed the finished line 5.736 seconds ahead of Brad Keselowski, winning Thursday night’s UNOH 225 at Kentucky Speedway. Kyle Busch finished third, followed by 2012 series champion James Buescher and Ryan Blaney. Continue reading
