Suárez Goes For Five At The Next Stop: Bristol

Daniel Suárez will put his four-race win streak on the line Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway. The track hasn’t been kind to the Monterrey, Mexico driver. Suárez, who swept the first two NASCAR K&N Pro Series East races of the season, heads into the PittLite 125 with a 15th and 26th in his last two starts on the high-banked half-mile.

10 Years Of The Whelen Southern Modified Tour

The NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will have a milestone weekend when the 2014 season takes the green flag on Sunday at Caraway Speedway in Sophia, N.C. The Whelen Season Opener 150 will launch the 10th season of competition for the Whelen Southern Modified Tour, which held its inaugural event at Caraway on March 26, 2005. George Brunnhoelzl III is a two-time winner of the Caraway opener, and will look to Sunday’s event as an opportunity to launch a potentially historic fourth consecutive championship season. His Whelen Season Opener 150 triumphs in 2011 and 2012 both led to eventual titles. Continue reading

Short-track racing fans can’t miss Thursday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The ground-pounding racing machines of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will take to the frontstretch quarter-mile for the UNOH Southern Slam 150 on Bojangles’ Pole Night.

West Babylon, N.Y., native, George Brunnhoelzl III, will look to wrap up his fourth NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour title in the series’ season finale, as he leads the points standings by 32 over Kyle Ebersole and 33 over Andy Seuss. Local fan favorite and 2013 Modified division track champion at Bowman Gray Stadium, Burt Myers, sits fourth in the standings. Continue reading
