The first half of the 1994 Winston Cup season the black cars dominated. Rusty Wallace, Dale Earnhardt and Ernie Irvan together had 11 wins in the season’s first 14 races.

The Verizon IndyCar Series returns to the 2.5 mile Pocono Raceway for the second straight year this weekend. After not racing on the Tricky Triangle since 1989, IndyCar made its return last July with Chip Ganassi Racing’s (CGR) Scott Dixon picking up the win and leading a 1-2-3 finish for CGR.
Andretti Autosport driver Marco Andretti shattered the track qualifying record with a two-lap average of 221.273 mph. Andretti dominated the Pocono IndyCar 400 before fuel issues relegated him to a tenth-place finish and hopes for a better result in Sunday’s race. Continue reading
The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards heads to the high banks of the half-mile Winchester Speedway in Indiana. ARCA cars travel around the track in 15-16 seconds a lap, making it one of the fastest half-mile tracks in the country.
In last year’s race, ARCA veteran Frank Kimmel held off a hard-charging Austin Wayne Self to score his 79th career win and tie Iggy Katona for the all-time record. Kimmel has always been good on the Winchester track with six wins with his first coming in 1996. The defending ARCA champ is still looking for his first win of 2014. Continue reading
