Michael Lira is a 25-year-old young man with a passion for racing since a very young age. He grew up watching his Dad race and knew right away that racing would be a big part of his future. Lira started racing Quarter Midgets at just 9 years of age, and enjoys racing go-carts on dirt, a more technical sport than racing on asphalt.

Michael Lira’s main goal is to achieve success in racing and he’s accomplished several milestones along his racing journey.

During Lira’s first season in the FASCAR PRO-TRUCKS division in 2011, he claimed the title of “Rookie of the Year.”

In 2012, Lira competed in the FASCAR PRO-TRUCKS series, the FLORIDA UNITED PRO-TRUCKS series, and made his début in a Pro-Late Model stock car, finishing fourth in his very first race, the PRO-LATE 100 lapper. After that, he made his Super Late Model début in the Red-eye 100 and finishing second.

Lira closed his 2012 season winning the Track Championship at New Smyrna Speedway, tying for the Track Championship at Orlando Speedworld for the FASCAR Pro-Trucks divisions and finishing sixth-place in FLORIDA UNITED PRO-TRUCKS series.

Lira is competing in the ARCA Racing series for a limited number of events in 2013 with the support of Jack Roush, Roush-Fenway Racing and Kimmel Racing, as well as racing in NASCAR’s Whelen All-American Series, select Florida United Pro-Truck races, and the UARA Late Model Stock Car Series.

As for his most immediate plans, Lira is looking to racing at Madison International Speedway this weekend, Salem Speedway in September, and possibly Iowa later this season.
