The key to winning Saturday night’s Sprint Unlimited was to survive. Following an eight car wreck in the second segment, the field now was half of how many started the race. The remaining half put on a show that came down to the last few laps. It was Denny Hamlin outlasting the field when he sprinted ahead on the last lap. Hamlin was able to hold his position as his closest challengers, Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, and Kyle Busch weren’t able to catch up with the dominant Joe Gibbs Racing No. 11 car. Continue reading

Enfinger Conquers ARCA’s Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona
Grant Enfinger started off the 2014 ARCA season with a big bang at Daytona International Speedway.
He won the Lucas Oil 200 by holding off defending ARCA champion Frank Kimmel and Martinsville Speedway President Clay Campbell. Enfinger was one of the favorites heading into the race. He qualified the No. 90 Ford on the front row.
The qualifying session for the ARCA Series on Friday was proven chaotic. Bobby Gerhart won the provisional pole, but failed post-qualifying tech after ARCA officials found an illegal U-bolt on the car. He was one of five drivers whose qualifying times were disallowed, giving them provisional starting spots at the end of the field. Continue reading

The 56th annual Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 23, NASCAR’s biggest, richest and most prestigious race, will go green at 1 p.m. (TV – FOX Sports, Radio – MRN Radio, SiriusXM).
It’s the fifth straight year “The Great American Race” will start at 1 p.m.
