Cameron Hayley Stays the Course at Atlanta, Finishing with Career Best Second-Place

Racing his second race of the season, in his second year with ThorSport Racing, Cameron Hayley earned his career-best NASCAR Camping World Truck Series finish of second in the Great Clips 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon. His No. 13 Truck was they highest finishing Toyota of the race.  Continue reading

Bubba Pollard Wins Second-Straight Winter Showdown at Kern County Raceway

After winning the inaugural SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Winter Showdown last year, Super Late Model driver, Bubba Pollard, from Senoia, GA added an exclamation point by winning again this year at Kern County Raceway. The first two days, Pollard was not sure, his team would pull off another victory because he was having problems with his car. Then on Sunday morning his team found the problem, fixed it, and two-hours later Pollard was celebrating in victory lane. Continue reading

Johnson Wins at Atlanta, Ties Earnhardt Sr with 76th Victory

With wrecks erupting behind him, Jimmie Johnson took the checkered flag in overtime under caution in Sunday’s Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway—and then he remembered.

Almost lost in the euphoria of Johnson’s second straight victory at the 1.54-mile track was the realization that, with his 76th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory, he had tied the late Dale Earnhardt for seventh on the all-time wins list.

But as the No. 48 Chevrolet rolled around the track on its victory lap, heading in a clockwise direction à la Alan Kulwicki, the six-time champion thrust his arm out the driver’s side window with a three-finger salute to the crowd, acknowledging the bond he now shares with The Intimidator.
