Brett Moffitt Continues Championship Defense with Win at Chicagoland
JOLIET, Ill. – Brett Moffitt has long insisted he wanted to earn a checkered flag this season with his performance on track and Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway he did just that – winning the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Camping World 225 by a no-doubt 3.950 seconds over Brandon Jones.

Normally it’s done with a rotation of Monster Energy Cup Series drivers and a veteran crew chief. JR Motorsports is choosing a different path for the drivers of the No. 8. While they have used a couple of Cup drivers like Chase Elliott and Ryan Preece, most of the schedule is covered by developing drivers like Jeb Burton, Ryan Truex, and Zane Smith, in the car for the Camping World 300 at Chicagoland Speedway on Saturday.

Through the first half of the season, he has been near or on top of the points standings, swapping the lead back and forth. Lately, he has maintained the summit spot based off some very consistent runs week in and week out, holding a 480 to 426 point lead over second.
