Elliott wins All-Star race in the NASCAR Cup Series at Bristol Motor Speedway in a rare mid-week event on July 15th – the first All-Star event at the Tennessee track.

The sport’s reigning Most Popular Driver, Chase Elliott earned his first NASCAR All-Star Race win Wednesday night at Bristol Motor Speedway – holding off the reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch in the closing laps.

Note: This power ranking covers the two previous NASCAR Cup Series races at Indianapolis and Kentucky.

The past couple of races were incredible, as well as unpredictable. First, in Indianapolis, Denny Hamlin blew a tire from the lead with just a few laps to go, right as it looked like he was going to take his fifth win of the season. The incident gifted the win to Kevin Harvick, who tied Hamlin at the top with four victories.

(July 13, 2020) — CBS Sports and Superstar Racing Experience (SRX), a new sports property created by The Montag Group, NASCAR Hall of Famers Ray Evernham and Tony Stewart, and investor George Pyne have entered into a multi-year partnership to produce a six-race, short-track series that will air Saturday nights in primetime on CBS Television Network and CBS All-Access in the Summer of 2021.

Custer Claims First Cup Win

Custer claims first Cup win in the Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart on Sunday afternoon, July 12th at Kentucky Speedway.

Kentucky Speedway has given teams a challenge in trying to manage the low banked corners of a fast intermediate track. A change was made a few years ago to make turns three and four shallower in banking than turns one and two. The modification makes the track unique to other 1.5-mile courses on the schedule.
