The ARCA Racing Series makes its annual visit to Toledo Speedway this weekend. This is a home game for ARCA, as Toledo, Ohio is home for their headquarters.
Last year’s race came down to a late-race battle between Ken Schrader and Grant Enfinger. The two ran nose-to-tail for most of the race. Enfinger stayed right in the tire tracks of the No. 52 car, until a right-front tire went down on the No. 90 car with 12 laps to go, ending his shot at the win. Continue reading →

Up to the 1989 season, Darrell Waltrip was not liked by many fans. Nicknamed “Jaws”, the talkative Waltrip finally grabbed his elusive Daytona 500 win to start the season. Many may remember him doing the “Ickey Shuffle” in victory lane. The No. 17 Hendrick team, led by crew chief Jeff Hammond, had three wins up to the All-Star race.
The 1989 edition of the All-Star Race was all Waltrip and Rusty Wallace, driving the No. 27 for car owner Raymond Beadle. The two drivers together led 123 of the 135 laps. In the end, it was setting up as a classic duel between Waltrip and Wallace. Continue reading →
Adam Petty left the Earth too soon at 19 years old, but his memory will live forever.
Kyle and Pattie Petty welcomed their son, Adam, into the world on July 10, 1980. Racing was in his genes, as great-grandfather Lee and grand-father Richard made their mark on the Cup circuit. His father Kyle also had some success in his NASCAR career, scoring eight Cup wins, making it a total of 263 NASCAR wins across three generations. Continue reading →
