The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season kicks off with an exhibition race at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The current stadium for the USC Trojans turned into a quarter-mile short track for one showdown. Every year, this clash sets the tone year and is the first taste of racing before heading to Daytona International Speedway for the first points event. The winner receives bragging rights and momentum heading into the most anticipated week of the season.

One last race for four drivers to fight over one championship. It all takes place at Phoenix Raceway. 312 laps on a track that races just like a short track but can be way meaner. Drivers often have issues dealing with the high temperatures. Whether it is the slick racing surface, the resin to add grip, or brake issues, Phoenix Raceway always gives drivers problems.

One final race to set the stage for the championship race in Phoenix. Eight drivers hunting for a Final Four spot in a race that settles it all. It all takes place at Martinsville Speedway. A half-mile paperclip track where tempers flare quickly. Martinsville is the perfect spot for an important cutoff race. A playoff team always leaves heartbroken when the checkered flag is waved.

Kyle Larson scores a spot in the Championship Four in the NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Only three more races remained before the Championship Four event at Phoenix Raceway. Texas Motor Speedway was the host for the first race in the Round of 8 in the NASCAR Cup Series. The race gave playoff contenders a challenge as Texas Motor Speedway is trickier than what most people think. The track features a slick surface that makes drivers tiptoe around the corners. Also, there are different degrees of banking on opposite ends of the racetrack. One driver was up for the challenge.

The elimination race for the Round of 12 took place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval. This race is known to have dramatic and historic happenings that create unimaginable developments in the playoffs each year. There are always a few drivers that appear ready to advance to the next round. However, by the end of the race, they find themselves looking in from the outside.
