The post-Atlanta power ranking is for the NASCAR Cup Series race six in the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway this past weekend.
With six races officially completed, the NASCAR Cup Series has reached the one-sixth mark of the season. Race number six at Atlanta brought about another intermediate track. Kyle Larson was the dominant driver for most of the race, leading more than half of the laps and winning both stages.

The Post-Phoenix NASCAR Cup Series power ranking this week is ready as the series now heads into Atlanta Motor Speedway for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 on Sunday afternoon. Three weeks in and the fireworks continued on Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway. After wins from Michael McDowell and Christopher Bell to start the season, of course, Chris Buescher would spoil the party and dominate the first stage. Buescher would end up slipping back into the field midway through the second stage, but William Byron would take over, winning the second stage and leading over 100 laps for a statement win at the 1.5-miler. There wasn’t much movement at the top of the rankings this week, but the middle and bottom saw some big shakeups.

After the craziness of the Daytona 500 led to Michael McDowell’s upset win, it wasn’t outrageous to think that the Daytona Road Course might tone down a little bit. Early on, it appeared as if that was exactly what would happen, with pole-sitter Chase Elliott driving away from the field and winning stage one with ease.
