Another win for Brad Keselowski in the Supermarket Heroes 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

For the first time this season, the NASCAR Cup Series went to work on the short track of Bristol Motor Speedway. Food City presented the Supermarket Heroes 500 on the high banks of Bristol, a track giving NASCAR fans action-packed races for years. Yesterday’s race surely continued that trend.

The First Stage

Brad Keselowski kicked off the race in the pole position and was able to lead the field through two cautions, including a competition caution in the first stage. During the restart, after the competition caution, Ryan Blaney pushed into the lead and was closely followed by Chase Elliott. Chase Elliott rides momentum to victory in the Alsco 500 at Charlotte, his seventh win in 157 Cup Series races.

After a long four hundred lap Coca Cola 600, the NASCAR Cup Series returned to Charlotte Motor Speedway for a short five-hundred-kilometer race. This race was only 208 laps, and for everyone in the field, it felt like a shootout.

The First Stage

William Byron held the pole starting position and led the field down into turn one. Byron held off Matt DiBenedetto for the race lead and continued to lead up until the competition caution on lap 20. Most of the leaders made their way onto pit road for early adjustments, but, multiple drivers stayed out on the track to gain track position.

Joey Logano was one of the drivers staying out, and it paid off for him with a quick pass on the restart to gain the lead. Joey Logano had no other challenges in his way and was able to sail smoothly to a stage one victory.

Post Coca Cola 600 Power Ranking with a Strong Run by Bowman and a Keselowski Win.

The Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway is the only NASCAR Cup Series race over 500 miles and four stages. The most extended race of the season is just three races after the most extended layoff in NASCAR history.

The Memorial weekend event is a grueling test of endurance and durability for the cars and drivers. Alex Bowman dominated early with Team Penske handling the field in the second half. Joey Logano won Stage 3. Then, Brad Keselowski claimed his first win of the season after a late-race caution. Although there’s a bit of a shake-up near the top of the newest power ranking, the top spot isn’t changing hands quite yet.
