CONCORD, NC (Jan. 3, 2018) – Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) announced today that long-time racing executive Doug Duchardt has been named Chief Operating Officer of the corporation. Duchardt begins the role effective immediately in preparation for the upcoming 2018 seasons while Max Jones is promoted to Managing Director of the team’s NASCAR Operation joining Mike Hull, Managing Director of the team’s INDYCAR and IMSA Operations. A.J. Foyt Honored with Spirit of Ford Award

A.J. Foyt, one of the most legendary American drivers in history, was presented with the prestigious Spirit of Ford Award in a ceremony at the Road Racing Driver’s Club dinner last evening.

The Spirit of Ford Award is Ford Motor Company’s highest honor in auto racing, recognizing lifetime achievement and contribution to the industry both on and off the race track. Foyt becomes the 26th recipient, joining an international list of honorees from all forms of racing and racing media. Continue reading

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series News and Notes – March 24, 2017

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams continue their break this weekend before running the Alpha Energy Solutions 250 at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, April 1st at 3 pm ET. Pre-race television coverage begins at 2:30 pm ET on FOX along with radio coverage on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Drivers will race 131.5 miles over 250 laps – Stage 1 ends on lap 70 with Stage 2 ending on lap 140 and the race finish on lap 250.  Continue reading

Michael Lira Ready for Restrictor Plate Debut at Daytona

Growing up just minutes from Daytona International Speedway, it has been Michael Lira’s dream to compete at the high banks. For years, he watched his own father race at the track, so from a young age he knew he wanted to do the same.
