Dicing through the pack toward the end of Saturday afternoon’s Nationwide Series Race at Michigan allowed Regan Smith to take the lead after Parker Kligerman had to pit. Kligerman played the rain game, but failed and that left a golden opportunity for Smith. This is win number two for Smith on the season and increases his point lead to much more than a full-race. It all came together for Smith and allowing him to leave the track in a better place than he entered on Saturday.  Continue reading

Nationwide Series Alliance Truck Parts 250 Preview

The Irish Hills will be the host of this weekend’s Nationwide Series race, the Alliance Truck Parts 250. Michigan has turned into a bad fast track after the repave of track before last season. Drivers will be testing the limits of this two-mile track and it will surely be a fight all afternoon long. Kenny Wallace finishes 13th at Iowa Speedway

RAB Racing and Kenny Wallace came into a familiar Iowa Speedway with high hopes of a good finish and excitement to have U.S. Cellular on board for the first time. Iowa Speedway is a track that Kenny Wallace has an almost perfect lap completion record (99.7%), and three top 10 finishes in five starts.

The No. 29 U.S. Cellular Toyota Camry started off strong on Friday in practice with crew chief and team owner Robby Benton calling the shots from the garage. The team set the third quickest lap time, with the fastest ten lap consecutive lap time average of the entire field. On Saturday, Wallace qualified in 13th place right before the rain began to fall and postponed the DuPont Pioneer 250 until Sunday morning.  Continue reading
