Judge from NBC’s “America’s Next Great Restaurant” and Competitor from Bravo’s “Top Chef Masters” to Serve Latin-inspired Dishes; Levy Restaurants to serve Gargantuan Grilled Cheese and Southern Concession Favorites to Race Fans at Charlotte Motor Speedway

Celebrity chef Lorena Garcia will serve signature dishes at the Oct. 12 Bank of America 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. A Venezuelan-born chef, Miami-based restaurateur, TV host and published author, Garcia is one of the country’s leading Latina chefs. At the Bank of America 500, Garcia will be serving her signature flavors for suite guests and in the infield Winner’s Circle Lounge.

In preparation for race week at Charlotte Motor Speedway Oct. 10-12, speedway officials want to make sure race fans and area residents are fully equipped to handle race day traffic by providing safe and efficient travel routes and information.

With help from the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP), Charlotte Motor Speedway is working to ease travel for fans heading to and from the races. The heaviest traffic is expected on I-85, U.S. 29, N.C. 49 and Bruton Smith Boulevard.

With the Bank of America 500 race weekend coming up, Speedway Children’s Charities (SCC) is offering many ways for fans to enhance the fan racing experience. Through next week, various auctions are available online such as a Ride of a Lifetime with the stars of NASCAR, a meet & greet with prerace concert act the Goo Goo Dolls and other VIP experiences, including a trip to Victory Lane. Besides auctions, fans can donate directly to this great cause and attend SCC-sponsored functions such as NASCAR Night and the Ultimate Fan Track Walk where 100 percent of the proceeds support SCC programs. Harvick Perseveres through Onslaught of Cautions for a Kansas Win

On paper the race may seem a clean-cut day for Kevin Harvick on Sunday at Kansas Speedway, but in reality, the paper is a bit deceiving.

Harvick started the race out front and finished there too, but he was challenged to remain on his game throughout the many restarts which could have meant trouble for the No.29 team. Harvick may have earned the win, but the biggest story of the day was a shift in Sprint Cup challengers at the top. Kansas was filled with chaos and to top all of that off, one of the top championship contenders, Kyle Busch, was caught up in a wreck that may have wiped his shot at the title away. Continue reading →
