Hessert Grabs First ARCA Win at Talladega

Tom Hessert got a push from his teammate to propel him to the lead with three laps to go to score his first victory at Talladega.

Early in the going, it looked like Grant Enfinger picked up where he left off last week from Salem. The No. 90 car led the first 35 laps after starting from the pole.

On the first round of green-flag pit stops, there were at least 16 cars caught speeding entering or leaving pit road, including Enfinger. Continue reading

Sixteen-year-old Spruce Creek High School student and race car driver Michael Lira will be heading to Talladega Superspeedway this week to participate in two days of test sessions with the ARCA Racing Series. It will be Lira’s first time running on the legendary Alabama race track and only his second time on a superspeedway. Lira’s previous superspeedway experience came last December, when he tested at Daytona International Speedway in his ARCA car. The testing dates at Talladega are set for April 16 – 17. Rick Allen Named Lead Race Announcer for NBC Sports Group‘s Upcoming NASCAR Coverage

Rick Allen brings more than a decade of motorsports broadcasting experience

NBC’s Sports Group announces that Rick Allen has signed a multi-year agreement to serve as the lead race announcer for NBC’s upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series coverage beginning in 2015. Alongside Allen in the NBC Sports Broadcast booth will be current driver Jeff Burton, who also announced that he will be joining NBC’s multi-platform NASCAR coverage.  Continue reading

ARCA Racing Series announces 2014 Schedule

download (1)The 20-race, 2014 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule is complete, say series officials.

The 2014 season – the 62nd in series history – starts with the 51s ARCA race at Daytona International Speedway with the annual Speed Weeks race on Saturday, Feb 15, and ends with its championship weekend at Kansas Speeday, Friday, October 3. In between, the series will visit historic short tracks, two dirt mile tracks in Illinois and New Jersey Motorsports Park, meaning ARCA will once again showcase its diversity by racing on superspeedway and short paved ovals, dirt and road courses.
