William Byron Uses Late-Race Pass for Dramatic Win at Iowa

Following his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win of the season last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, Sunoco Rookie of the Year contender William Byron used a late race restart and three-wide pass to charge from fourth to first to win Saturday night’s Speediatrics 200 at Iowa Speedway.

Byron, driving the No. 9 Liberty University Toyota Tundra, swiped the lead from Cole Custer on a restart with nine laps remaining, but a caution six laps from the finish saw the Charlotte, North Carolina, native have to defend his presence at the front.

In a two-lap shootout, the 18-year-old Byron fended off challengers Custer and Cameron Hayley for a series-high third win in just his ninth Truck Series start. Continue reading

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Speediatrics 200 at Iowa Preview

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams will race 175 miles over 200 laps in the Speediatrics 200 at Iowa Speedway on Saturday, June 18th. FOX Sports 1 will start their pre-race coverage at 8 pm ET with a green flag around 8:30 pm ET with radio coverage on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Byron Blurs to Second Win at Texas

The record for youngest Texas winner fell for the second consecutive race after William Byron darted by Matt Crafton with five laps remaining to win the Rattlesnake 400 at Texas Motor Speedway last Friday.

Byron, 18 years, 6 months, 12 days old, surpassed last November’s winner Erik Jones at 19 years, 5 months, 7 days as the most youthful race winner at the 1.5-track. Continue reading

Small worked with NASCAR in various business-building capacities, including serving as senior manager for team marketing services within the NASCAR Industry Services department out of the Charlotte, N.C., office. Brad Keselowski Says he Owed it to Team to Race at Iowa Speedway

While most of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garage will take a much deserved weekend off for Father’s Day next weekend, driver Brad Keselowski won’t and will drive the No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang in the NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Iowa Speedway on Sun., Jun. 19.

Keselowski will make his sixth XFINITY start of the season at the NASCAR-owned short track, but the 2012 Cup champion said it was more than just liking the track as the reason for giving up some coveted downtime. Continue reading
