Short-track racing fans can’t miss Thursday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The ground-pounding racing machines of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour will take to the frontstretch quarter-mile for the UNOH Southern Slam 150 on Bojangles’ Pole Night.

West Babylon, N.Y., native, George Brunnhoelzl III, will look to wrap up his fourth NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour title in the series’ season finale, as he leads the points standings by 32 over Kyle Ebersole and 33 over Andy Seuss. Defending Better Half Dash Champion Lyn-Z Pastrana clocked the fastest time in Monday’s qualifying session and will be a favorite to win back-to-back Better Half Dash titles when the ladies of NASCAR return to Charlotte Motor Speedway’s frontstretch quarter-mile during Bojangles’ Pole Night on Thursday.

Pastrana, wife of NASCAR Nationwide Series driver and action sports superstar Travis Pastrana, said she is happy with her qualifying effort, a 20.257 second lap, but also aware of how much different the racing will be under more crowded race conditions. Continue reading
