Furniture Row Driver Goes For Second Straight Win, Pocono Repeat

Martin Truex Jr., from the one-car Furniture Row Racing team based in Denver, Colorado, set a NASCAR record and Charlotte Motor Speedway record on his way to his first victory of the season in the Coca-Cola 600.

Truex’s 588 miles led in a single race were the most in NASCAR history. The previous-best total was Jim Paschal’s 502.5 miles led in the 1967 World 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Continue reading

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams are preparing for one of their première races of the season, the Coca Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 29th.  One of the most grueling events on the track, drivers will need the stamina to race 600 miles over 400 laps from day into the night on Sunday. Television coverage starts at 5:30 pm ET on FOX with a green flag around 6 pm ET. Radio Coverage is on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Smoke Searches for First Coca-Cola 600 Win in Final Start

Three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart ranks tied for 13th on the all-time victories list, but has never won the Coca-Cola 600.

The member of the Coca-Cola Racing family will attempt to capture his first checkered flag in his last start in NASCAR’s longest race on Sunday.

Stewart’s best finish in the Coca-Cola 600 was a third-place showing in 2001. In 33 starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway (tied with Matt Kenseth for the most among active drivers), Stewart claims one win (fall of 2003), six top-fives, 13 top-tens and an average finish of 14.5. Continue reading

Preview of NASCAR Sprint All Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway

The annual Sprint All-Star Race is on Saturday, May 21st at Charlotte Motor Speedway with FOX Sports 1 broadcasting their pre-race show at 8:30 pm ET and the green flag set to wave around 8:30 pm ET. Radio coverage is on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90. 

Due to inclement weather, both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Sprint Showdown  events will now take place on Saturday, May 21st at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The Sprint Showdown will begin at 11 am ET with Chase Elliott leading the field to green with the lineup set by Sprint Cup Series owner points. The green flag for the Camping World Truck Series, North Carolina Education Lottery 200 will drop at 12:30 pm ET with William Byron on the pole after setting field from speeds in Thursday’s practice session. Television coverage for both events is on FOX Sports 1 with radio coverage on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Friday tickets are good for Saturday’s Sprint Showdown and North Carolina Education Lottery 200; Fans who wish to stay for Saturday night’s Sprint All-Star Race activities can buy those tickets at the ticket office or any ticket gate.

Changes to NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race Format

The 31st NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will take place on Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. 

This season, the event will last 113 laps total. Drivers will run two 50-lap segments with mandatory green-flag pit stops. After the segments, the event will culminate in a 13-lap dash to the $1 million prize. Continue reading

Gibbs has a Good One in Erik Jones

Joe Gibbs Racing continues to shell out talent in NASCAR and its latest prodigy, Erik Jones, has broken the mold.

Brad Keselowski Takes Checkers in Action-Filled Talladega Race

Taking control in the final three laps of Sunday’s wreck-filled GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, Brad Keselowski claimed his fourth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory at the 2.66-mile race track and solidified his spot in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

Choosing the top lane for a restart on lap 186 of 188, Keselowski powered his No. 2 Team Penske Ford past Kurt Busch with two laps left and crossed the finish line as a gaggle of cars wrecked behind him coming to the stripe. Continue reading
