The new king of the restrictor plate races took home his second restrictor plate victory of the season.

Matt Kenseth was up front all day and by the time he crossed the finish line, he was first. Kenseth has been up front in all four restrictor plate races this season and he was leading on the last lap in three of them. Kenseth started off the season by winning the first restrictor plate race at Daytona. Then Kenseth went on to run well in the three remaining restrictor plate races. With Kenseth’s track-record at the restrictor plate races this year, he could be called the restrictor plate king. Continue reading

With the 2011 Race in Homestead the championship crown is passed along to a new champion and the Jimmie Johnson, era comes to a close.  As fans are celebrating with a new champion in Victory Lane, the passing of this era will most likely go by, barely noticed by most. The new champion and everyone associated with his team, will celebrate well into the next day.  While Jimmie Johnson for the first time in five years will perhaps offer his congratulations and the quietly walk off into the evening with his family.  Continue reading
