Heading to his home track at Salem Speedway with the ARCA Racing Series this weekend, Sellersburg, Indiana native, Will Kimmel joined his uncle Frank Kimmel and cousin, Frankie Kimmel II for the weekend event.  He led the Kimmel family with a third-place finish, followed by Frankie Kimmel II in tenth and Frank Kimmel in 23rd-place after a cut tire deflated his chances in the Federated Car Care Fall Classic 200 on Saturday night.

After qualifying to start the race from eighth-place, Kimmel finished two spots short of earning his first ever ARCA victory. This was his third top-five and fourth top-ten of the season, with Kimmel Racing in his No. 69 Ford. Chicagoland is ‘home’ to Venturini Motorsports, now based in Concord, NC and this weekend is a homecoming for those leading the organization.  Their drivers at Chicagoland Speedway include, Frank Kimmel, Cody Coughlin and Daniel Suarez. Together they all have one goal this weekend and that’s to bring home a victory for a Venturini hometown crowd.

The winningest driver in the ARCA Racing series, Frank Kimmel was at one time a fierce rival of Venturini Motorsports and now, he’s their lead driver and mentor for their driver development program.  What seems an unrealistic relationship has turned into a great partnership. The Chicagoland Venturini Family Name is among the Most Prestigious in Racing. 

As the NASCAR XFINITY and ARCA teams head to Chicagoland Speedway this weekend, we celebrate Throwback Thursday by featuring Venturini Motorsports and their midwestern roots spanning six decades of racing success. Today, their name is one of the most recognized within the sport, but there are possibly some nuggets about this family that are not so well-known to race fans.

Ross Kenseth Wins ARCA Racing Series Corrigan Oil 200

Ross Kenseth said he came to Michigan International Speedway for one thing Friday: “learn to win.” Mission accomplished.

Kenseth, 22, making his third career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start, won Friday’s Corrigan Oil  200, winning at the two-mile speedway by 2.1 seconds over Frank Kimmel. Kenseth led 51 laps in taking the win in the No. 52 Federated Auto Parts Chevrolet. He took the lead from Grant Enfinger on lap 87 of the 100 lap race. Continue reading →
