Earnhardt Jr. holds off Harvick to sweep at Pocono and earn his third win of the season.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. realized that it took a bit of luck for him to win at Pocono Raceway in June. But he knew his team was firing on all cylinders Sunday when he completed the season sweep.

Benefitting from impeccable pit strategy, Earnhardt led the last 14 laps and had a car with the performance to hold off Kevin Harvick on a restart with three laps to go to ring up his third victory of the 2014 season in the Sprint Cup Series GoBowling.com 400. Continue reading

Kasey Hoping To Be A Dandy Kahne At Pocono

Kasey Kahne’s aggravation spilled with every word uttered in his post-race interview on ESPN following Sunday’s race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

In regards to needing a win to enter the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Kahne said:

“Yeah, no kidding. I know that. We have five more good tracks for us and six more races, so hopefully we can get one.”

Even though it seems the drivers were in Pocono a few weeks ago, it’s time to head back to the tricky triangle for a second go around. June featured another dominant performance by Jimmie Johnson and he is be looking to do the same thing again this weekend after coming so close at Indy last week. The ‘tricks’ Pocono has up its sleeve this weekend could come at any of its three corners.
