NEWTON, Iowa — The green flag would soon wave, but before Justin Allgaier went elbows up, he draped his arms around his four-year-old daughter, Harper Grace.

Kaz Grala is Working Hard to Keep Racing with Fury Race Cars

A few weeks ago, Kaz Grala was suddenly and unexpectedly without a ride in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, where he’s been racing from the start of the season including the season opener at Daytona where he finished fourth. Riley Herbst Impressive in NASCAR Xfinity Series Debut at Iowa

Overcoming a pit road speeding penalty, Riley Herbst brought his Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 home with a sixth-place finish in the Iowa 250 presented by Enogen at Iowa Speedway on Sunday evening. Rookie Austin Cindric Takes the NASCAR Xfinity Series Pole at Iowa Speedway

With NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying in the books, the rookie, Austin Cindric in the No. 22 for Team Penske takes the pole position to start the Iowa 250 presented by Enogen on Sunday evening.  It is Cindric’s first pole award in the Xfinity Series.

“It’s a big relief for me,” says Cindric. “I’ve been really close so far in the last few weeks and it’s good to get it done.  But this is just a fox tick…We’ve got three stages to do it today and with a lot of tire fall off, a lot of lanes to try to figure out how to use, and it should be a fun race.”

Starting alongside Cindric is Daniel Hemric followed by Brandon Jones, Elliott Sadler, and Cole Custer rounding out the top-five starters. Custer won the first two rounds of qualifying.

Ryan Truex, Tyler Reddick, Kaz Grala, Riley Herbst and Michael Annett from Des Moines, IA, is racing at his home track at Iowa, round out the top-ten.
