After starting from the pole for Saturday night’s Drivin’ for Linemen 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event at Gateway Motorsports Park, Erik Jones led a race-high 84 laps, but once again experienced misfortunes late in the race, spoiling his effort to collect that elusive first win of the season. Jones was in the runner-up position, chasing down race-leader Matt Crafton, with just under 20 laps remaining when contact with a lap truck resulted in terminal damage to his Special Olympics World Games Tundra and relegated him to a 23rd-place finish. The No. 4 team that competes in the NASCAR XFINITY Series has been penalized for a rules infraction committed during a May 16 practice at Iowa Speedway.

McReynolds’ First Career Win Comes In K&N Pro Combo Event At Iowa

Keeping the trend of new winners at Iowa Speedway intact, Brandon McReynolds became the 12th different winner in 12 meetings at Iowa between the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West.

The soon-to-be 24-year-old driver from Mooresville, North Carolina, picked up his first NASCAR K&N Pro Series win Saturday night in the Casey’s General Stores 150. McReynolds, driving the No. 16 NAPA Auto Parts car for Bill McAnally Racing, became the second West driver in 12 races to win the combination race at Iowa. It was McReynolds’ 34th career K&N Pro Series start. Continue reading →
