A late race turn of events led James Buescher to victory lane Saturday afternoon at Michigan. With four laps to go, Kyle Busch had the lead, but when he slipped up the track, Buescher cruised through to the lead. From dirt, to a triangular shaped race track, the Truck Series has had its variety over the past week-and-a-half. Although Eldora was unique and exciting, it’s time to move on and inch closer to crowning this year’s champion. With Pocono on the schedule for only a few seasons, drivers are figuring out the triangle quickly, making for phenomenal racing. 2013 Camping World Truck IowaIn a field full of talented young drivers, 17-year-old rookie Erik Jones proved to be the “Cream of the Young Crop” in the American Ethanol 200 presented by Enogen at Iowa Speedway on Saturday. In only his third start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) with Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM), the rookie captivated the audience as he effortlessly danced with the veterans and out-dueled his rookie class as he powered his No. 51 Toyota Tundra to a solid second-place finish.  Continue reading

Peters Finishes Strong To Post Second Iowa Speedway Victory

Timothy Peters knows the way to victory lane at Iowa Speedway.

He followed that path Saturday night to his best finish of the season.

It was the Red Horse Racing driver’s  first win of the season and sixth in his career. He jumped to sixth in points. The track provided a similar boost last year, propelling Peters to a second-place points finish. Continue reading

Friday night’s Nationwide Series race at Daytona wasn’t a typical Daytona race. Four cautions throughout the event left very few cars off the track. Restrictor plate ace Matt Kenseth navigated his way to the front toward the closing laps and a nice draft from Truck Series regular James Buescher propelled Kenseth to his first Nationwide victory with Joe Gibbs Racing. Other than about a five car pileup, the race didn’t see too many wrecks that fans have grown accustomed to seeing in the past. Continue reading
