Kyle Busch Holds off Erik Jones for NASCAR XFINITY Series Win at New Hampshire

Another NASCAR XFINITY Series race, another set of milestones for Kyle Busch.

Leading 190 of 200 laps in Saturday’s AutoLotto 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Busch held off Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Erik Jones in the closing laps to claim his 82nd career victory, extending his own series record.

In the process, Busch raised his total of XFINITY laps led to 17,064, once again extending his own record. Busch won for the fifth time in 11 races at the Magic Mile and the sixth time in ten starts this season. Continue reading →

It was a race Kyle Busch won with a dramatic run around the outside lane at Kentucky Speedway.

It was a race Erik Jones lost when he hit the wrong switch on his dashboard, killed the engine and slowed under caution late in the race.

But, interestingly, it was a race where Jones showed Busch, the pole winner, the key to victory, demonstrating to his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate that the outside line was viable when racing side-by-side with an opponent. Continue reading →

Despite Being Great or Horrible; Daniel Suarez Still Confident in Truck Program

It’s surprising for some to think that Daniel Suarez has a NASCAR XFINITY Series win rather than a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series triumph in two years of competition.

After all, Suarez, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver began showing his potential in trucks last season driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM). And while many contributed his truck performances to the transferring success to the XFINITY Series, much can’t be said for the same in 2016.

Matt Tifft Undergoing Surgery for Brain Tumor

David Ragan substituting for Matt Tifft in Daytona International Speedway XFINITY Series event

NASCAR driver, Matt Tifft, who was recently sidelined due to back issues, now has another medical issue keeping him away from the track. Joe Gibbs Racing issued a medical update on their driver, indicating Tifft will undergo surgery for removal of a low-grade glioma in the brain.

The slow-growing tumor was found during treatment and evaluation for a recent disc condition in his back. Tifft will undergo surgery and rehabilitation soon and once cleared by physicians, he will return to racing. The Joe Gibbs Racing rookie is anxious to return to the race track as soon as possible.
