In recent years, Kevin Harvick has exercised his dominance at Phoenix International Raceway by crushing the competition.
In Sunday’s Good Sam 500 at the one-mile track in the Sonoran Desert, he maintained his mastery by a matter of inches, banging fenders with Carl Edwards in a side-by side overtime battle on the way to the finish line.
After the drivers traded shots on the way to the stripe, Harvick pulled ahead to win the fourth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race of the season by 0.010 seconds (roughly four inches), the identical margin by which Denny Hamlin had beaten Martin Truex Jr. in the season-opening Daytona 500.Continue reading →
Suárez Takes Over Points Lead, Hits Major Milestone
On the strength of three consecutive top-tens to start the season, Daniel Suárez took the points lead for the first time in his young – and impressive – career.

Over the last several years, there’s one rally cry from some fans that has come clearly into focus. They don’t enjoy watching NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers winning XFINITY Series races. They especially don’t enjoy watching one Sprint Cup Series driver dominating the mid tier series races – that driver is Kyle Busch.
At Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon, Busch led all but one lap of the Boyd Gaming 300 on his way to victory, finally fulfilling his dream of winning at his home track in front of his family and friends. When Kyle Busch finally broke his home-court jinx at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, he did it in style.
Leading 199 of 200 laps, Busch won Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series at the 1.5-mile track, pacing a 1-2-3 finish by Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas. The Las Vegas native ended his 0-for-11 drought at his home track, beating teammate Daniel Suárez to the finish line by 0.817 seconds, with Erik Jones rolling across the stripe in third.
The victory was Busch’s second straight in as many starts this season and the 78th of his career, extending his own series record. Continue reading →
