Logano Advances with Kansas Win, as Several Chase Favorites Falter

In a race that saw Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup favorites Jimmie Johnson, Brad Keselowski and Dale Earnhardt Jr. fall by the wayside, Joey Logano earned a ticket to the Eliminator Round of the Chase with a hard-fought victory in Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Logano beat rookie Kyle Larson to the finish line by .480 seconds to notch his fifth victory of the season, tied with Team Penske teammate Brad Keselowski for most in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this year. The win was Logano’s first at Kansas and the eighth of his career. Continue reading

Busch Breaks Jinx with NASCAR Nationwide Series Win at Kansas

Kyle Busch won the lottery on Saturday afternoon—the Kansas Lottery 300, to be precise.

But it must have seemed like a huge jackpot for the driver of the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, who won a NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Kansas Speedway for the first time since 2007. Continue reading

Gordon Grabs Victory to Compliment Early Season Consistency

Jeff Gordon didn’t have the most dominant car on Saturday night at Kansas Speedway, but he was strongest when it all counted.

His victory tremendously aids the No.24 team as they now are pretty much a lock for the Chase. The team has proven consistency in the first ten races, however without a win, consistency means nothing. Now his season means so much more as he will have a have a shot at his fifth title. Busch Routs Field to Take Second NCWTS Victory of the Season

In the inaugural NASCAR night race at Kansas Speedway, Kyle Busch put on quite the show. He led 104 laps en route to his first career NCWTS win at the track.

He began the race from the pole and led early despite numerous caution periods that occurred in the first 35 laps.

The biggest challenge Busch faced throughout the night came from Brad Keselowski Racing. Joey Logano had a very strong truck, but he could not manage to hold off the No.51 truck for long. Logano’s teammate Ryan Blaney also gave Busch a run for his money on multiple restarts. Continue reading
