New Playoff Tracks Highlight NASCAR’s 2018 Schedule Announcement

NASCAR today announced the 2018 schedule for all three of its national series, and the lineup includes an array of changes to the tracks that make up the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series playoffs.

NASCAR will add a second short track to the playoff slate, as the 0.75-mile Richmond International Raceway hosts the second playoff race for the first time. In a surprising twist, Charlotte Motor Speedway serves as the first cutoff race, but it won’t be the 1.5-mile layout. For the first time, NASCAR will run on the Charlotte road course oval – a.k.a. the roval –  marking the first time the playoffs will see a road-course layout among its ten races. Continue reading →

Wallace, Sadler Presenting at Country Music Awards

NASCAR XFINITY Series stars Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. and Elliott Sadler are returning to Las Vegas this week, but not for a race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The drivers are joining such luminaries as Jake Owen, Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker and Miss America Savvy Shields as presenters at the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards at T-Mobile Arena. Wallace and Sadler will take the stage to announce the Video of the Year Award presented by XFINITY.

Co-hosted by country music superstars Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley, the awards show will be broadcast live (8-11 p.m. ET, delayed 8-11 PT) on CBS. Musicians slated to perform include Reba McIntire, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban and the Backstreet Boys.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series teams will race the Camping World 500 at Phoenix Raceway this Sunday, March 19th. FOX is providing television coverage at 3:30 pm ET with radio coverage also available on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

Drivers will race 312 miles over 312 laps with Stage 1 ending on lap 75 and Stage 2 ending on lap 150. Continue reading →
