The Shootout Will Miss NASCAR’s Top Stars

NASCAR NASCAR Informer Sprint Cup Series

The Shootout is going back to the way things use to be come February at Daytona and two of NASCAR’s biggest names will not be there.

In 2013, drivers eligible for the Shootout include pole winners from the 2012 season and past Shootout winners.

Two of the sport’s biggest drivers didn’t make that list. Those drivers include last year’s Sprint Cup champion, Brad Keselowski, and Clint Bowyer. Two of the sports most refreshing and outspoken drivers will be no where to be found on the race track when NASCAR hits the track that Saturday night. Did an Oily Track Create Excitement?

For the second time this season, an oily race track had an effect on the outcome of the race.

In Watkins Glen, at the August race, a track scattered with oil led to two passes for the lead on the final lap. When race leader Kyle Busch spun in the oil, it led to Marcos Ambrose and Brad Keselowski battling it out for the win. Ambrose eventually slid to the victory. Continue reading →

Brian Vickers And Dollar General Sign New Deals

After a comeback year for Brian Vickers in 2012, he finds himself lined up for a full-time ride in 2013. Joe Gibbs Racing announced that Brain Vickers has signed a one year deal to drive in the Nationwide series with full-time sponsorship of Dollar General.

The Monster Mile – Dover International Speedway

NASCAR Rich Sprint Cup Series

Formerly known as Dover Downs Speedway, the track was renamed in 2002 to Dover International Speedway and is located in Dover, Delaware. They broke ground in 1966 and opened in 1969 and host two cup events each year. It is a one mile oval with 24 degrees of banking in the turns and 9 degrees of banking on the straights. The surface is concrete, although it was asphalt until 1995 and now seats 135,000. Continue reading →
