A late race turn of events led James Buescher to victory lane Saturday afternoon at Michigan. With four laps to go, Kyle Busch had the lead, but when he slipped up the track, Buescher cruised through to the lead. As the clock keeps ticking toward the 2013 Chase, the time has arrived for speculations on who will be competing for the title and who will be on the outside looking in when the Chase begins at Chicagoland Speedway in September.
Chase Tracker is making its second annual appearance to keep fans informed leading up to, and throughout the heated competition for a Sprint Cup trophy. Chase Tracker will give a weekly summary including those drivers chasing the two coveted Wild Card spots. Unlike most fan speculations, which are typically based on gut feel and emotion for particular drivers, Chase Tracker will look at current statistics for analysis. This will give fans a more balanced view of whom to watch as the competition heats up – Watkins Glen through Richmond and beyond.

Matt Kenseth wins the Subway Firecracker 250 at Daytona, Friday, July 5, 2013

Friday night’s Nationwide Series race at Daytona wasn’t a typical Daytona race. Four cautions throughout the event left very few cars off the track. Restrictor plate ace Matt Kenseth navigated his way to the front toward the closing laps and a nice draft from Truck Series regular James Buescher propelled Kenseth to his first Nationwide victory with Joe Gibbs Racing. Other than about a five car pileup, the race didn’t see too many wrecks that fans have grown accustomed to seeing in the past. Continue reading

Daytona’s high banks are legendary as history is worn into them along with memories that last a lifetime. Twice a year when NASCAR rolls in, more skid marks are added, indicating the wildness occurring in the race. More of the crazy Daytona racing that fans adore is returning on Saturday night.
