Global Rallycross: Q&A with Joey Mancari, Director of Competition

Earlier this year as the Global Rallycross Championship was preparing for their 2013 season, there was plenty of work to do in series headquarters. One of the new additions to GRC staff for 2013 is Joey Mancari, who comes to the sport with nearly three decades of professional motorsports experience, including NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series.

Mancari is now serving as GRC’s director of competition in 2013, taking on a host of responsibilities both at and away from the track. As we prepare for the season launch, he was happy to sit down and tell us about his role in the sport, and what to expect this season. Continue reading

Fans can expect a big ‘ole Texas showdown Saturday Night when the Sprint Cup Series cars invade the mile-and-a-half Texas Motor Speedway. Everything is bigger in Texas and when NASCAR invades the Lone Star State, the race is always more exciting than expected. Texas is usually the track where the gloves can come off when the drivers’ tempers reach their boiling points, but the gloves have already come off throughout the last few races and that could spice things up on Saturday Night. TV Alert: SPEED’s Race Hub to feature Sprint All-Star Race Announcement from CMS

download (1)Charlotte Motor Speedway will outline the new format for the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race during a press event that will be carried live on SPEED TV’s Race Hub. In addition, Charlotte Motor Speedway will unveil its own “unique” race car for the upcoming event.

Fans should set their DVRs and tune in on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m.

 

Along with a select group of invited fans, Brad Keselowski, 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion and Marcus Smith, president and general manager, Charlotte Motor Speedway will be on hand for this exciting announcement.
