Guests include K&N Pro Series East driver Scott Heckert from Turner Scott Motorsports. Heckert earned his best career finish at Iowa Speedway last weekend in the East Meets West combo event. Also joining us is NHRA dragster, Tina Stull to talk about what she does with Team Troops. Tina works with several military-focused ministries to providing on-going support for the service members and their Families, and is responsible for distributing thousands of free tickets to racing events to members of the military.

The most prolific winner in drag racing history with 120 NHRA tour victories and 13 series championships, all in a series of Castrol GTX-sponsored hybrids called “Funny Cars” that are capable of zero to 330 mile-an-hour acceleration in 4.6 seconds. Is the current NHRA national record holder for quarter-mile performance at 4.665 seconds, 333.58 mph. John has an unbelievable winning streak, having earned at least one tour victory in each of the last 20 seasons. GEICO/Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster driver Richie Crampton experienced the highs and lows of NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing during the Circle K NHRA Winternationals in Pomona.

The rookie savored a first-round victory over Brittany Force that was his first professional win but then suffered a second-round defeat to No. 1 qualifier Doug Kalitta.

Still, Crampton knows it’s early in his rookie year and believes Pomona was a good start to his career. Continue reading →
