Four-for-four is a great day on the baseball diamond.

It’s an even better day on the race track. Just ask Brad Keselowski, who won his fourth straight NASCAR Nationwide Series race Saturday at Watkins Glen International.

Keselowski’s 1.418-second victory over Penske Racing teammate Sam Hornish Jr. in the Zippo 200 was his fourth in his last four NNS starts this season (though not in consecutive events) and the 24th of his career. Continue reading

Brad Keselowski made a busy weekend well worth the trouble. The defending NASCAR Sprint Cup champion was the lone driver making frequent trips between Central Iowa and Pocono Raceway.

Keselowski will be toting a gas pump trophy back with him after winning the Fifth Annual NASCAR Nationwide Series US Cellular 250 Saturday night at Iowa Speedway. He has won the last three Nationwide starts he has made for Penske Racing, despite not having a Sprint cup victory this season. Continue reading

What more could Penske Racing want? A one-two finish with their drivers, with a win and the point standings lead. That is a very successful day for the organization as they leave Chicagoland Speedway with their heads held high.

When Joey Logano could be relaxing on the beach, he was pulling into victory lane for the second time in the Nationwide Series this season. Just about every other Cup driver took the week off, but Logano was hard at work trying to boost Penske’s No.22 owner championship chances. Well, it was worth skipping a week of vacation to pull into victory lane instead and that’s exactly what Joey Logano did Sunday afternoon at the Chicagoland Speedway. Continue reading

Trent Cherry, Penske Pit Crew Coach is ‘One of a Kind’

TrentCherry22Trent Cherry, also known as ‘Twitch’ around the garage, is a proven leader as Pit Crew Coach and with 15-years under his belt at Penske Racing. He knows what it takes as a member of a successful team because he’s also the rear-tire carrier for the #22-Joey Logano team. Although Trent is now on the #22 crew, he’s also been part of the #2 team for most of his career.

Hailing from Charlotte, NC, Trent Cherry began his working experience packaging t-shirts for his dad’s company. So, he’s certainly at home in NASCAR’s racing hub.

When he’s not performing his duties within the Penske organization, Trent is also working behind the scenes representing all NASCAR Sprint Cup crews via pittalks.com, helping to keep the site updated and featuring various Pit Crew members every week.

As for his favorite racing memory, Trent recalls winning the 2002 All-Star race with Ryan Newman. They raced their way into the event and despite starting in last place, the team worked hard and won the All-Star race!

In his spare time, Trent enjoys playing poker and says that Las Vegas is his favorite track. Of course, that’s not because of the on-track racing; instead its his pursuit of a Royal Flush off the track.

Trent Cherry is definitely ‘One of a Kind’ and our guest on Fan4Racing Fan2Fan NASCAR Talk, Monday, May 20th, 2013. The show starts at 8:30pm ET and fans can call 347-996-5176 to take part in Q&As during the LIVE broadcast.
