Alon Day Making NASCAR Cup Series Debut at Sonoma

The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series will experience a milestone this weekend at Sonoma Raceway when Alon Day, a 25 year-old native of Tel Aviv, will become the first driver from Israel to ever compete in NASCAR’s top series. Day is Israel’s 2016 ‘Athlete of the Year,”  and will race the No. 23 for BK Racing in the Toyota SaveMart 350. Continue reading

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West title competition is heating up with Chris Eggleston celebrating his third victory of the season and his second-straight series win in the NAPA/Toyota 150 at his home track of Colorado National Speedway on Saturday night. It was also the second-consecutive race for Eggleston – a native of Erie, Colorado – to take the pole and lead the field to the green flag.  Continue reading

Bowyer Hopes to Continue Bounce-Back Season at Bristol

Clint Bowyer’s NASCAR career hit a crossroad last season. Racing for HScott Motorsports, the 2012 championship runner-up finished 27th in the points standings and only logged three top-ten finishes – both career lows.

Heading into this year as the replacement for Tony Stewart in the No. 14 Ford at Stewart-Haas Racing, there was optimism Bowyer could get his career back on track. So far, he’s experiencing a bounce-back season. He’s already matched his 2016 total with three top-ten finishes and his third-place showing at Auto Club Speedway was his best performance since finishing third at Sonoma Raceway in June of 2015. Sonoma Helps Allmendinger at Martinsville? Go Figure

At first glance, there’s nothing even remotely similar between Martinsville Speedway and Sonoma Raceway.

At 0.526 miles, Martinsville is the shortest of short tracks in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series, a narrow, flat, paper-clip-shaped venue with tight turns and concrete corners.

Sonoma, on the other hand, is a 1.99-mile road course with ten turns (some of them right-handers) and dramatic elevation changes. Continue reading
