And now for the rest of this story…and fans can expect more chapters in the coming weeks and months

Apparently there is a rumored back-story to the Penske rear-end housing parts taken by NASCAR officials at Texas Motor Speedway this past weekend. And this rumor may, at least in part, be what Keselowski is referring to when he said,

“You have no idea what this team has endured in the last seven days…”

And perhaps, what the Penske teams have endured is for longer than seven days. This story may actually have started when the season ended in 2012 and re-started in Daytona 2013. Continue reading

2012 Sprint Cup champion, Brad Keselowski and his teammate Joey Logano, both Penske racing drivers, had parts confiscated by NASCAR before the Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

In an inspection about an hour before the scheduled start of the race, NASCAR officials required both Keselowski and Logano teams to replace rear-end housing parts around the suspension area of their cars. The hot-start Kyle Busch is off to this season just keeps getting better. The season isn’t even two months old and Busch has six wins combined, in NASCAR’s top-three series’.

Busch returned to victory lane on Saturday Night when he dominated the race and remained up front throughout the night. A late restart allowed Busch’s crew to get him back out front and then he held off Martin Truex Jr. and cruised to the finish. If it wasn’t for the last caution with 21 laps to go, Martin Truex Jr. would have likely ended up in victory lane since he dominated most of the second half of the race. Determined to win his 300th Sprint Cup start, Busch  knew he couldn’t let that happen. Continue reading

The big news out of Thursday’s test day at Texas Motor Speedway is that Chip Ganassi could be selling his Sprint Cup team to a Menard. That is John Menard, a long-time racer and supporter in the Sprint Cup Series.

It is no secret that Earnhardt Ganassi Racing has struggled in recent years. Juan Pablo Montoya’s top-ten last week at Martinsville was his first since June of last season at Michigan. Neither Jamie McMurray or JPM have battled for wins since 2010 when McMurray won the Daytona 500 and at Indianapolis. The last time an EGR team made the Chase was in 2009 with JPM. Continue reading
