Texas Motor Speedway Thinks Outside of Racing

Texas Motor Speedway put on an event that was bigger than NASCAR this past weekend, including a “wild asphalt circus,” an election and a full-blown carnival. It was one of the best marketing strategies I have ever seen.

Eddie Gossage, president of Texas Motor Speedway, and his team have been known for coming up with crazy ideas to get fans to the race track and last weekend included the best one yet.

Johnson outlast Keselowski for Texas win

No. 48 team extends Chase points lead to seven with two races remaining

The haymaker Jimmie Johnson delivered Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway turned out to be an eight-point swing.

Taking advantage of a late caution and four fresh tires to Brad Keselowski‘s two, Johnson pulled away from Keselowski in a green-white-checkered-flag finish to win the AAA Texas 500 and tighten his grip on a possible sixth Sprint Cup Series championship. Continue reading
