INDIANAPOLIS – It was essentially a storybook ending for Austin Cindric Saturday afternoon in the Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard and the 22-year old with Hoosier roots appropriately celebrated his first win at the renowned Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course by singing “Back Home Again in Indiana” as he took a victory lap.

HOMESTEAD, Fla. – With a new rules package coming in 2019 for NASCAR’s foremost series, with significant schedule changes under consideration for the year after that, and with a groundswell of new corporate interest in the sport as a marketing vehicle, NASCAR President Steve Phelps was upbeat when he took questions from reporters on Sunday morning before the Ford EcoBoost 400 (at 3 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90) at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

AJ Allmendinger is driving for Penske Racing once again. Allmendinger will test an IndyCar for Penske Racing on February 18 and 19 at Sebring International Raceway.

AJ Allmendinger is making his return into the racing world after failing a random drug test by NASCAR last summer. Since the failed drug test AJ has driven for Phoenix Racing in a limited number of starts, including more scheduled this up coming season, ran for Michael Shank Racing in the Rolex 24 and will now get a chance to drive an IndyCar for Penske Racing.
