Grant Enfinger Scores First Truck Series Win; Chase Feld is Cut to Six

In the race that decided the lineup for the Round of 6 in the inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase, Alabama native Grant Enfinger stole the thunder from the playoff drivers in Saturday’s Fred’s 250 at Talladega Superspeedway.

With a strong push from GMS Racing teammate and Chase driver Ben Kennedy after a restart on lap 93 of 94, Enfinger surged to the front and stayed there in the face of a last-lap challenger from another teammate, Spencer Gallagher, who came home second, 0.108 seconds behind the winner.

The victory was Enfinger’s first in 13 career starts in the series. Continue reading

What to Watch For: Timothy Peters goes for his third straight win at Talladega.

Timothy Peters (2014, 2015), Johnny Sauter (2013) and Parker Kligerman (2012) are the only drivers in the field who have won at Talladega.

Note: With only one race remaining in this round, repeat winner would expand to mean any driver that has already been eliminated or any driver that is currently in a transfer spot (a spot where if the round was over today, would have moved on).

Possible to Clinch:

Christopher Bell (0 Wins, 2062 Points) – Would clinch on points with 23 Points (tenth and no laps led, 11th and led at least one lap, 12th and led most laps) and a new winner. If there is a repeat winner, would clinch on points with nine Points (24th and no laps led, 25th and led at least one lap, 26th and led most laps). With a win, would clinch a next round spot on wins. Tyler Reddick out-dueled Brad Keselowski Racing teammate Daniel Hemric to win Saturday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series DC Solar 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams will race 300 miles over 200 laps in the DC Solar 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at 8:30 pm ET Saturday, October 1st. Television coverage is on FOX Sports 1 with radio coverage on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

What to Watch For: Every Chase driver except for William Byron competed in last year’s race at Las Vegas. The highest finishing Chaser was Timothy Peters (second), followed by Ben Kennedy (third), John Hunter Nemechek (fourth), Daniel Hemric (sixth), Matt Crafton (eighth) and Christopher Bell (14th).
