Kyle Weatherman Poised for Championship Run in First Full Season of ARCA Competition

Kyle Weatherman made a name for himself in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards last season. Driving for Cunningham Motorsports, Weatherman competed in 15 of the 20 races on the series’ schedule and earned his first series victory at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Weatherman also recorded runner-up finishes at Salem, Iowa, Springfield, DuQuoin and Kansas en route to earning the 2015 SCOTT Rookie of the Year award and the Calypso Lemonade Short Track Challenge championship.

Weatherman changed teams during the off-season, singing with Lira Motorsports to pilot the team’s No. 58 Ford and compete for the championship. Continue reading →

Gus Dean Scores First ARCA Win in the General Tire 200 at Talladega Superspeedway

Driver of the No. 98 GREE Chevrolet for Mason Mitchell Motorsports (MMM), Gus Dean earned his first career ARCA win in the General Tire 200 at the 2.66 mile Talladega Superspeedway.

The Bluffton, South Carolina native selected the outside line for the afternoon’s final restart coming with four to go. Veteran Tommy Hessert gave Dean a big push down the backstretch pulling him even with Josh Williams. A wreck behind the leaders would end the race and send the ARCA officials to the video monitor which declared Dean as the race winner. Continue reading →

Chances are 15-year old Todd Gilliland is far too young to have heard the phrase ‘Holy Toledo’. However, hard-pressed to find a more suitable expression, it seems all too fitting to describe Gilliland’s record setting performance after winning the ARCA Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway Sunday afternoon. On May 7th, Venturini Motorsports announced that 14-year-old, Todd Gilliland, will make his ARCA Racing Series début on May 17th during the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care at Toledo Speedway. Gilliland will pilot Venturini’s No.55 Toyota for the event. Continue reading →
