Ryan Gifford Revving Up his 2013 Season

Ryan Gifford, 24, is competing in his fourth season for Rev Racing in 2013 and is currently ranked fourth in NASCAR‘s K&N Pro Series East. Gifford recently won the Blue Ox 100 at Richmond International Raceway, the fifth race of the series this season. Along with his win at Richmond, Gifford has posted three top-fives and four top-tens in just seven races so far, revving up his racing career.

Impressive stats for the young driver, named earlier this year, as one of thirteen in ‘NASCAR’s Next’ program. Being part of this élite group, Ryan Gifford is a driver for fans to keep their eye on in the 2013 season and beyond. Continue reading

Chase Elliott: Son of Bill Elliott shows potential in ARCA

Force, Hight Run Away from Friday Field in Norwalk

John Force and Robert Hight were a potent 1-2 punch at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park on Friday night. Force’s Castrol GTX Ford Mustang set the track record with a provisional No. 1 elapsed time of 4.021 seconds at 317.72 mph. Right behind Force was teammate Robert Hight and the Auto Club Ford Mustang who ran 4.030 seconds at a track speed record of 318.77 mph.

As dominant as Force’s Castrol GTX Ford Mustang was in the final qualifying session on Friday the Auto Club Ford Mustang of Robert Hight was up to the task as well posting the quickest run of the first qualifying session and was second to Force in the night session. Hight picked up five qualifying bonus points for his efforts. Continue reading

Second Daytona Win Gives Johnson Legendary Status

Jimmie Johnson Wins NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway on July 6, 2013

No one has done it since 1982; that is until this past weekend. Sweeping both Daytona races in the same season, Jimmie Johnson broke a 30-year dry spell Saturday night with his win in the Coke Zero 400. Johnson was up front all night and held off his competitors each time they challenged him for the lead. The race was classic Daytona with carnage and nail-biting racing throughout the evening. Restrictor-plate racing doesn’t get any better and this race proved Daytona night racing is fun to watch.

Lap 32 was when Johnson found the front for the first time of the night and he wouldn’t be away from that spot for much more of the race. Continue reading
