Michael Lira is a Young Driver with a Mission

Michael Lira is a 25-year-old young man with a passion for racing since a very young age. He grew up watching his Dad race and knew right away that racing would be a big part of his future. Lira started racing Quarter Midgets at just 9 years of age, and enjoys racing go-carts on dirt, a more technical sport than racing on asphalt.

Michael Lira’s main goal is to achieve success in racing and he’s accomplished several milestones along his racing journey.

During Lira’s first season in the FASCAR PRO-TRUCKS division in 2011, he claimed the title of “Rookie of the Year.” Continue reading →

Larry Fisher and Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum

Larry Fisher is the executive director of the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by Automobile Club of Southern California at the Fairplex in Pomona.

Fisher is a longtime automotive enthusiast, holding membership in the Society of Automotive Historians, and is a collector of vintage autocycles, motorcycles, and microcars. Fisher was also an interpretive, planning, and experience design consultant, providing expertise to cultural heritage institutions, parks, and attractions. He served as CEO and executive director of the Herreshoff Marine Museum/America’s Cup Hall of Fame in Providence, R.I. Fisher also was a consultant to the president on the creation of the Experience Design Department for The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Michigan. Continue reading →

Allmendinger Cruises to Victory at NNS’ Debut Mid-Ohio Road Course

Saturday’s race was a début for the series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and NASCAR fans were ready in the Buckeye State.  Track management said the turnout Saturday was the best for the track so far this season.

AJ Allmendinger spent most of Saturday afternoon in front, then held on for an extra few laps to earn his second career NASCAR Nationwide Series victory in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Continue reading →
