Donnie Allison Book Re-Released; Set for Signings During Aaron’s Dream Weekend

Talladega Superspeedway is proud to congratulate legendary “Alabama Gang” member Donnie Allison and local author Jimmy Creed on the re-release of their book “Donnie Allison … As I Recall.”

Fans visiting Talladega Superspeedway for the upcoming Aaron’s Dream Weekend (May 3-5) will have several opportunities to meet Donnie and the author, buy the book and get it autographed.

Allison, as well as Creed, will do book-signing sessions at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame adjacent to Talladega Superspeedway from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 3, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. They will also meet and greet fans who attend the Aaron’s 499 on Sunday, May 5, during another book-signing session to be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. adjacent to the track’s Allison Grandstand.  Continue reading

The Boston Marathon bombings have been tough for the whole nation to understand this week. Last night’s shootings and death of Sean Collier makes it more real. Sean Collier’s death has hit the NASCAR community in-particular.

Andrew Collier is an employee of Hendrick Motorsports, and Sean Collier’s brother. Sean Collier was shot and killed Thursday night at MIT after law enforcement chased and fired on the brothers, suspected as behind the bombings at the Boston Marathon. Continue reading

When the Kansas Speedway reconfigured their track surface, before last October’s race, they created a track that could feature some action-packed and intense racing. Drivers attempted to figure-out their way around the new surface of the mile-and-a-half track last October, and left with some knowledge and mainly torn up sheet-metal. The race featured multiple incidents and  went down in the history books as one of the most exciting races in the history of the Kansas Speedway. Fans are hoping for a repeat performance when NASCAR’s Generation Six cars take to the track this weekend and they likely won’t be disappointed. Continue reading
