As the checkers fell at the conclusion of the Ford 400 at Homestead, it was a sign of many things including the end of the season, the crowning of a new champion and the end of the road for some drivers and teams.  Some will find themselves with new teams next year, but for others, Homestead was the end of the road.  For one team in particular, Homestead brought closure to a five year stretch, peppered with multiple poles, two wins and a chase berth. Jeff Burton: Late Season Resurgence Brings Promise for 2012

For race fans, the start of any new season provides optimism that their favorite driver can win races and put themselves into championship contention at seasons’ end. Jeff Burton fans, felt good about 2011 being a successful season. Jeff had just come off of a season that saw him make the chase and earn fifteen top-ten’s and six top-five’s to go along with a 12th place points finish. This team had several chances to win races along the way only to fall short, but their competitiveness was obvious. Kasey Kahne – Three Years of Change

In the midst of a tumultuous year at Richard Petty Motorsports, Kasey Kahne found himself looking at free agency at the end of the 2010 season. Richard Petty Motorsports, as it is known today, is the only team Kahne had worked with, since starting his Cup career in 2004. The team was then known as Evernham Motorsports. In early April, Kahne announced he would be leaving the organization and had signed with Hendrick Motorsports for the 2012 season. Continue reading
