Ben Rhodes Moving in the Right Direction with ThorSport Racing

After finishing 12th in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona last weekend, Ben Rhodes rallied his ThorSport Racing No. 27 team to a fourth-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Saturday in the Active Pest Control 200. It was Rhodes second start at the 1.54-mile track where his began the race in 15th-place and ran as high as second place. Continue reading

Christopher Bell Wins Two-Lap Shootout for Atlanta Victory

Christopher Bell unquestionably had the dominant truck in Saturday’s Active Pest Control 200, but, in the end, the driver of the No. 4 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota Tundra had to work hard for the third NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory of his career.

In the nightcap of a NASCAR doubleheader at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bell held off fellow Tundra driver Matt Crafton in a two-lap shootout to the finish for his first win of the 2017 season. Continue reading

Kaz Grala Avoids Last-Lap Melee to Become Youngest Daytona Winner

In the space of 100 laps, Kaz Grala went from youngest NASCAR national series pole winner at Daytona International Speedway to youngest NASCAR national series race winner at Daytona.

What happened between the first green flag and the checkers, however, could fill volumes.

Miraculously, Grala slipped through a wild wreck on the backstretch on the final lap of Friday night’s NextEra Energy Resources 250 to win the first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race contested in stages under NASCAR’s new competition format. Continue reading

Johnny Sauter Holds Off Chase Elliott to Advance to Championship Race

With a finish that was the diametric opposite of his last run at Martinsville Speedway, Johnny Sauter punched his ticket to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship race with a victory in Saturday’s Texas Roadhouse 200 at the 0.526-mile short track.

After a restart with 18 laps left, Sauter, who finished last at Martinsville in April, held off pole winner Chase Elliott, beating the No. 71 Chevrolet driver to the finish line by 0.316 seconds. Continue reading
