Erik Jones repeats in Phoenix truck race as second power failure halts action

With lights flickering around Phoenix International Raceway, polesitter Erik Jones won Friday night’s Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race when the second power failure of the evening halted the race after 126 of the a scheduled 150 laps.

The clear class of the field, Jones led 114 of those 126 laps. Though the lights came back on after the second stoppage, NASCAR called the race because of the possibility that the power would fail again while the trucks were racing at full speed, as had just happened on Lap 124. Continue reading

Camping World Truck Series UNOH 200 at Bristol Preview

ThorSport Packs 1-2 Punch

ThorSport has not one, but two drivers at the top of NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series standings following a record-setting performance at Michigan this weekend.

Team drivers Johnny Sauter and Matt Crafton finished 1-2 in Saturday’s Careers For Veterans 200, blazing away from the field in the fastest race in series history with an average speed of 161.1ten mph. The new mark demolished the previous record of 154.737 mph set at Texas Motor Speedway in 2012.  Continue reading

International Flavor for NASCAR Home Tracks and ARCA Preview

NASCAR_HOMETRACKS_cropped_700The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will head to Watkins Glen International Friday for the Bully Hills Vineyard 125, led by championship points leader Ben Rhodes. There are a number of road-course ringers in the field, most notably, two-time NASCAR Canadian Tire Series champion Andrew Ranger and two-time NASCAR Whelen Euro Series champion Ander Vilarino. Ranger has 19 Canadian Tire wins with 16 on road courses. He’s also won three times in the K&N Pro Series – all on road courses. Vilarino, joined by 2013 championship runner-up Frederic Gabillon at The Glen, has 16 Whelen Euro wins – 15 on road courses. Also in the field will be NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Sunoco Rookie Austin Dillon. Continue reading
