Kyle Larson conquers Las Vegas in the NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube on Sunday afternoon at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The NASCAR Cup Series is three races into the season with three different winners thus far. It has been an extremely entertaining first couple of weeks, as teams begin to settle in for the long haul. The NASCAR Cup Series headed out west for a showdown in the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Being three races in, it was expected that NASCAR’s veterans would begin to return to the top after a lackluster start to the season by many teams.

Kyle Larson wins NASCAR Cup Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Kyle Larson left little to chance Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway leading a race-best 103 laps and pulling away to a convincing 3.156-second win over former NASCAR Cup Series champion Brad Keselowski to win the Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube – his first victory in two years.

On the Hot Seat: Brad Keselowski is the second installment in a series examining drivers who might be in a different spot for next season.  This may be due to contract prospects, developments in the sport, or evolving interests.

By all accounts, Brad Keselowski is in the prime of his career.  The 2012 NASCAR Cup Series Champion currently drives the No. 2 Ford for Team Penske, where he has been their driver since 2010.  All but one of Keselowski’s 34 Cup Series wins are with Team Penske, as well as his 2012 Championship.  Keselowski is a premier driver in the sport and can be counted on for several wins per year.  He also has two appearances in the Championship 4, most recently in 2020.  Despite all of this, there is significant uncertainty as to the prospects for Keselowski at Team Penske.

Pre-season power ranking for Daytona International Speedway is before the non-points paying Cup Series Clash for the first time on a road course this Tuesday.

With the Daytona 500 right around the corner, after the Clash, it’s time to put together the first 2021 edition of the NASCAR Cup Series power ranking. Deciding on the top-20 is a difficult task. This season is shaping up as one of the more competitive seasons in recent memory. New teams such as Trackhouse Racing and 23XI Racing joining the Cup Series and young drivers such as Tyler Reddick and Christopher Bell are primed for a breakout. The top of this ranking will get the most attention, but the middle and bottom are the sleepers who could find their way to the top as the season progresses.

The driver of the No. 2 Team Penske Ford wants to join an elite club.

Here are his thoughts on the possibility – and desire – to win his first Daytona 500.

“It’s definitely the one big box I don’t have checked,” said Brad Keselowski. “I’ve got the championship. I’ve won every other major but Daytona. The only other person that can claim that actively right now is Kevin Harvick and I want to join that club. It’s a big club to be in – to have all the majors and to have a championship. I know I’m right there and I want to make it happen and feel like I’ve done a lot of the right things to make it happen. I haven’t been perfect, but it’s certainly part of the source of frustration, for sure.”
